Members Present: Edward Aschley (2 meetings 2014), Mike Brandl (5 meetings 2014),
    Duane Cerra (5 meetings 2014), Edward Conway (5 meetings 2014), Judy Conway ( 3 meetings 2014), Robert Dugan ( 5 meetings 2014), Al Wirtz ( 5 meetings 2014), and Rose Wirtz ( 4 meetings 2014).

Members Not Present: Judy Conway and Edward Aschley.
Visitors: Solicitor Smith, Barb O'Barto, and Jim Pinkerton.

Meeting was called to order by Edward Conway, President at 7:00 pm and a roll call was done.
The Pledge of allegiance was recited.  Everyone was reminded that the meeting was being recorded.
Meeting minutes for the previous meeting were reviewed and changes, if any, were noted.
Motion to accept the minutes: Rose Wirtz.  Second: Robert Dugan.
A vote was taken and the motion carried.

Bills paid after last meeting and bills to be paid.
Duane Cerra made the motion to accept the bills paid after last meeting and the bills to be paid. Second: Mike Brandl. A vote was taken and the motion carried.
Revenues from previous month. Rose Wirtz made the motion to accept the revenues. Second: Robert Dugan.
A vote was taken and the motion carried.

Borough foreman’s report:
1.Robert Feil reported to council that Jeff and he cleaned out the on Elgin Lane.
2.The junk behind the garage will be hauled away this week.
3.Robert wants to do some work on the salt shed.  He wants to put concrete poles behind the barriers, so they don’t move.
4.Duane Cerra reported that the streets will be swept and drains cleaned out on May 15th @ 8:00 am.
Al Wirtz made a motion to accept the foreman's report. Second: Robert Dugan...
A vote was taken and the motion carried.

Committee Reports:

Police: Everyone received a copy of the police report.
1.There are 3 investigations going on and there should be charges filed shortly.
2.The new computer is working great.
3.The Chief has had complaints about stop signs and speeding on Main Street Ext.
4.The Chief is working with the Zoning officer on the abandon junk vehicles.  There are doing 3 at a time        until all are done. They are not being selective.
5.The Police Committee met with Matthew Irvin from Cranberry Township to hire as a part time officer. He said he can do 18 to 20 hours a week. Rose Wirtz made the motion to hire Matthew Irvine. Second: Duane Cerra. A vote was taken and the motion carried.
6.Rose asked the Chief about renting electric speed reminder signs for on Kline Avenue.  She said she         noticed how many speed on that road. He said he would check into it.
7. The Chief said he will be repainting the lines on the streets for speed checks.
8.The Chief suggested that the dirt from the streets when swept be dumped on the lane to do pump house    on Kline. Duane Cerra said that he would see to it and then add some gravel on it to give it a good base.   Then the police can do speed checks from there.
           Duane Cerra made the motion to accept the police report. Second: Robert Dugan.
   A vote was taken and the motion carried.
Streets: 1. Ed Conway said he will call Dick Knapko from PennDot to come in about the streets
                to get pricing for double sealing them.
             2. Nathan Beers said he would buy the pipe for the driveway. The street crew will dig it out
                When they repair the side of Center Street.
            3. Ed also said that he talked to Dick Knapko about the old section of Mars-Evans City Road
                in front of the pizza shop. Dick said there is a letter from 1988 that states that it belongs to
                PennDot, so Ed went to the people in that area and told them to call the PennDot office in
                Butler and complain about the road not being taken care of. He is going to check with the
                people there to see if they called and who they talked to. That is the best council can do
                for them. It is not the borough street.
4. The code for junk vehicles needs updated.    
        5.  Costar notified municipalities to expect a raise in salt prices to go up 5 -10 % over last year.    
       Rose Wirtz made the motion to accept the street report. Second: Robert Dugan.
                 A vote was taken and the motion carried.
Sewer: 1.There is a meeting with Evans City on May 13th @ 6:00 pm.
           Al Wirtz made a motion to accept the sewer report. Second: Robert Dugan.
           A vote was taken and the motion carried.
Zoning: 1. Ed Conway told council about the Blight Program. He is working with the zoning officer and
              The solicitor on it.
           2. Ed will call Butler County about the bridge on Center Street deteriorating.
           3. Anyone wanting to know about installing pools should call John Nath.
           4. We will call in Penn Power to check the meter on the garage.
           Al Wirtz made a motion to accept the zoning report. Second: Duane Cerra.
             A vote was taken and the motion carried.
Water: 1
     Duane Cerra made a motion to accept the water report.  Second: Robert Dugan.
          A vote was taken and the motion carried.
Correspondence:
               1. No Correspondence
  Rose Wirtz made the motion to accept the correspondence. 2nd: Bob Dugan
  A vote was taken and the motion carried.

  Old Business:                    
1. Ed Conway said as you can see we now have clean the floors.
2. Alice Wahl that Cintas will bring the mats for the floors tomorrow and will change them once a month.
Duane Cerra made a motion to accept the old business report. Second: Robert Dugan.
A vote was taken and the motion carried.

New Business:

Public comment (if any):
1.Jim Pinkerton explained about Ambien Electric and Gas Suppliers.
2.Barb O’Barto asked about what all she needed to do to put a house on her property on Staples Avenue. She was told to contact John Nath.

With no further business to discuss Al Wirtz made a motion to adjourn. Second: Rose Wirtz.
A vote was taken and the motion carried.
The meeting concluded at 8:50 pm.
